Acupuncture and tui na

I am very happy to say that I am now qualified in acupuncture, as of June 2022, having completed a BSc at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM), Reading.  This is a leading institution and the teaching was to a very high standard.  I was in clinic treating patients from September 2021 – June 2022, and gained experience in a wide variety of cases.  I also completed a diploma in tui na, traditional Chinese massage, at the same college, for which I studied during my final year there.  I frequently include some tui na techniques in my acupuncture sessions, as the two go so well together.  As you can read on my website, an acupuncture treatment can also include other techniques such as moxibustion, gua sha and cupping.

Acupuncture treatments are based on a very thorough consultation and have an holistic and individually-tailored way of treating the patient.  This is partly due to the Five Element aspect – CICM is a unique institution in the UK in that it includes Five Element Acupuncture training, which adds a dimension to the treatment that really gets to the heart of the patient’s experience, seeing as it does the connection between emotional and physical issues (for more details, see Acupuncture ).
